It depends on your deck’s current condition and the look you want. Solid stain fully covers the wood and hides more wear, while penetrating stain preserves more of the natural grain. We can walk through the options during your estimate.
How long does deck staining take, including dry time?
Application itself is often completed in a day or two for most residential decks, but dry and cure time before the deck is back in full use will add to the timeline. We will give you specifics for your project.
Does my deck need to be cleaned before you can stain it?
Yes. Cleaning is part of our process for every deck project, since dirt, mildew, and residue will prevent a coating from bonding properly.
Can you stain a deck that already has an old, failing coating?
In many cases, yes, once the failing coating is properly addressed. We will assess your deck’s condition and let you know what preparation is needed.
